Therapeutic Orientation and Approach
My focus is solution-oriented brief therapy. I find that most problems and concerns are based in old traumas and unresolved emotions. Using a variety of client-centered techniques we work together to clear these old traumas. My clients generally complete their therapeutic goals in 6 12 sessions. My therapeutic interventions are eclectic. I am trained in Hypnosis, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Though Field Therapy (TFT), and Emotional Freedom Therapy. I often use humor, metaphor and insight to access the subconscious mind and assist the client in personal growth and change. My current interest is in NonViolent Communication, as taught by Marshall Rosenberg and the Center for NonViolent Communication( www.cnvc.org)
Personal Comments
My life work has been focused on personal growth. I began meditating in 1972 with the belief that clearing my mind and body of stress and trauma would develop my full potential. I continue to believe in those principles. Studying Neuro-linguistic Programming and Hypnosis showed me how the mind works and how to communicate with others in ways that are most efficient. I love learning about communicating and language and I continue to play with words and ideas. I have been a devout student of the works of Milton Erickson.
At some point I discovered that I learn best by sharing and teaching others. Whenever I am learning something new I automatically begin to wonder how I will share it with others. I am a teacher, teaching meditation, hypnosis, communication skills, and techniques for trauma relief.
I am fascinated by the new "leading-edge" technology of psychology. I am trained and experienced in Energy Psychology and have been using these techniques in a wide variety of areas for over 4 years.
